The "Pest lied" Liturgy

A prayer service for the Coronavirus and other epidemics

While suffering from the Plague in 1519, Ulrich Zwingli wrote a poem called the “Pestlied (Plague Song)”. In this three-part poem he documents his experiences with the sickness and how he comes to find hope in the promises and strength of God.

In light of the new Coronovirus, our pastor has written a prayer service liturgy that centers on Zwingli’s poem. You may view the liturgy by clicking on the image below, and feel free to use and adapt it according to the needs and worship style of your congregation. All we ask in return is that you acknowledge that this liturgy comes from All Souls Protestant Church in St. Gallen and East Switzerland.

Many thanks and God bless.
