Song of Adoration

We Are Marching In The Light Of God

We are marching in the light of God
We are marching in the light of God
We are marching in the light of God
We are marching in the light of God

We are marching (marching we are marching)
Oo, we are marching in the light of God!
We are marching (marching we are marching)
Oo, we are marching in the light of God!

Prayer of Confession

LEADER: Children of God, beloved by Christ, let us confess our sins together saying….

ALL: Almighty, eternal, and merciful God, Whose love is like an ocean for us, we confess to You that we have not shown love as Your great Law and Son command. We have not loved You with all our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength, and we have not loved our neighbors as we love ourselves. We have also failed to remember that neighbors are more than those we like; they also are our enemies and those we wish to turn away. Lord, in Your mercy, forgive us for our lovelessness, and give to us a selfless faith that leads to grace and care for all. In Your holy name we pray. Amen.

(Confess in Silence)

Song of Confession

Here Is Love Vast As The Ocean

Here is love vast as the ocean
Loving kindness as the flood
When the Prince of life, our Ransom,
Shed for us His precious blood.

Who His love will not remember?
Who can cease to sing His praise?
He will never be forgotten
Throughout heaven’s eternal days.

On the mount of crucifixion
Fountains opened deep and wide;
Through the floodgates of God’s mercy
Flowed a vast and gracious tide.

Grace and love like mighty rivers,
Poured incessant from above,
Heaven’s peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world with love.

Let me all Thy love accepting
Love Thee ever all my days
Let me seek Thy Kingdom only
And my life be to Thy praise;

Thou alone shalt be my Glory
Nothing in the world I see;
Thou has cleansed and sanctified me
Thou Thyself hast set me free.

Confession of Forgiveness and Faith

(Maasai Creed)

LEADER: Brothers and Sisters, Scripture says that if we confess our sins, Christ, Who loves us, is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Therefore, as a called an ordained servant of His holy Church, and by His grace and love, I declare to you the entire forgiveness of all of our sins. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

ALL: In Jesus Christ we are forgiven and made righteous. Thanks be to God!

LEADER: And now let us confess our faith together through the Maasai Creed saying….

ALL: We believe in the one High God of love who created the beautiful world and everything good in it. He created people and wanted them to be happy in the world. God loves the world and every nation and tribe in the world. We have known this God in darkness, and we now know God in the light. God promised in His book the Bible that He would save the world and all the nations and tribes.

We believe that God made good on His promise by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, a man by the flesh, a Jew by tribe, born poor in a little village, who left His home and was always on safari, doing good, curing people by the power of God, teaching about God and humanity, showing that the meaning of religion is love. He was rejected by His people, tortured and nailed hands and feet to a cross, and died. He lay buried in the grave, but the hyenas did not touch Him, and on the third day He rose from the grave. He ascended to the skies. He is Lord.

We believe that all our sins are forgiven through Him. All who have faith in Him must be sorry about their sins, be baptized in the Holy Spirit of God, live by the rules of love and share the bread together, to announce the Good News to others until Jesus comes again. We are waiting for Him. He is alive. He lives. This we believe. Amen.

Sermon

Text: John 15:9-17
Title: Abide In Love
Preacher: Rev. Dr. Scotty J. Williams

As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.

12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down their life for their friends. 14 You are My friends if you do what I command you. 15 No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what their master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. 16 You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in My name, He may give it to you. 17 These things I command you, so that you will love one another.

Song of Thanksgiving

Jesu, Jesu, Fill Us With Your Love

Jesu, Jesu,
Fill us with Your love,
Show us how to serve
The neighbors we have from You.

Kneels at the feet of his friends,
silently washes their feet,
Master who acts as a slave to them!

Jesu, Jesu,
Fill us with Your love,
Show us how to serve
The neighbors we have from You.

Neighbors are wealthy and poor
Varied in color and race,
Neighbors are near us and far away.

Jesu, Jesu,
Fill us with Your love,
Show us how to serve
The neighbors we have from You.

These are the ones we should serve,
These are the ones we should love;
All these are neighbors to us and You.

Jesu, Jesu,
Fill us with Your love,
Show us how to serve
The neighbors we have from You.

Loving puts us on our knees,
Willing to wash other’s feet
This is the way we should live like You.

CLOSING PRAYER

with the Lord's Prayer and Benediction

LEADER: Our Lord Jesus, we thank You for this time of worship, and we thank You for the gift of love which we enjoy from You each day. As we prayed to You earlier on, fill us with Your love, and help us to be servants who reach out with grace and care for all. The grace You showed to all while You were here among us, and the care we see within the prayer You taught the Church on earth to pray….

ALL: Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, Forever and ever. Amen.

LEADER: May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the abiding fellowship of the Holy Spirit be upon you and with you always.

ALL: Amen!

LEADER: Go in grace! Go in peace! You belong to Jesus!
