Virtual events during Holy Week

Observing and remembering Jesus' journey to the cross in the week before Easter

In addition to our regular Sunday services, the COVID-19 pandemic keeps us from gathering for Holy Week. Nevertheless, our Council has found ways for us to observe this special time together, and on this page you will find a list of all our 2020 Holy Week happenings. May God bless you as we remember the Passion of Lord, and we hope that you will spread the word and invite others to join us as we look forward to the joys of Easter.

Palm Sunday

April 5th, 8:00 a.m.

During our Social Distance Worship gathering we will remember Christ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem where people cried Hosanna as they laid palm branches at his feet. Though we will not have our yearly palm procession, you can have mini-procession in your home with a printable palm branch that can found in the liturgy.

Maundy Thursday

April 9th, 7:00 p.m.

Virtual meeting

We will meet on Zoom to read the Farewell Discourse that Jesus gave during the Last Supper. As we hear His parting words to His followers, we will be led in song by our musicians and have a time when we can offer prayers together.

In order to join the meeting you must download the Zoom Application and enter the Meeting Room via a special link (See button below. Enter the meeting room on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.).

When you click on the link below, you will be asked to download and install a software from Zoom. Confirm and you will be given access to the meeting. Alternatively, you can go to and create an account, make a download yourself and use the software. If you are not sure how this works, you can try it anytime to see how the connection happens. Of course, the meeting will only be at the scheduled time.

Holy Saturday

April 11th, 6:00 p.m.

On this day the Church remembers Jesus burial and keeps a symbolic Vigil to honor those who cared for His body and place it in the tomb. This Vigil is a simple devotional service with songs, prayers, and readings; this service can be done at home and will be available on our website at 7:00 p.m.

Story Stones

Painted stones that tell a story

This year Anja Knöpfli, one of our parishioners, is painting story stones to illustrate the events of Holy Week. Each morning we will feature one of these stones with a Bible reading and a special prayer that can be used as a devotional while observing the days of Holy Week. Many thanks to Anja for sharing her artistic gifts!
